2 How this connects to your other standards
Waves is not a sealed topic. Read this first if you are also taking one of the standards below. How this connects
The most direct links, roughly in order of how often they actually come up:
Electrical Systems (91526): resonance is the same idea twice Resonance in an RLC circuit (X_L = X_C, current maximum) is the electrical version of mechanical resonance here — a driving frequency matching a natural frequency produces a maximum response. Frequency and period mean the same thing in both: f = 1/T. Mechanical Systems (91524): a mass on a spring is a standing wave with one moving mass Simple harmonic motion and standing waves share the same restoring-force idea: displace the system, and it is pulled back toward equilibrium at a rate set by its own natural frequency. Both use the same period/frequency relationships, f = 1/T and v = fλ. Modern Physics (91525): light is a wave AND E = hf treats it as a stream of photons The wave picture here (λ, f, v = fλ) and the photon picture in Modern Physics (E = hf) describe the same electromagnetic radiation. A short-wavelength (high-frequency) wave corresponds to a high-energy photon — that link is exactly what the EM spectrum section below builds toward. ✓
