← A given environment: geographic concepts and skills

How this connects to the other Level 3 Geography standards

Where 91426 and 91427 reward depth on a case study you have prepared for months, 91429 rewards the reverse skill: applying the same geographic concepts fast, to an environment you have never seen before.

What carries over from 91426/91427

  • The same concepts — process, elements, interaction, spatial and temporal variation — are just applied to a GIVEN, unfamiliar resource rather than your own researched case study.
  • "Landscapes are the visible outcome of interactions" (91429's own wording) is the general form of "links between the elements of the process" (91426/91427's wording) — both license reading a map or photo as evidence of process.
  • The same redistribution/perspective habit — naming who gains and who loses, or which group holds which view and why — appears in 91427's impacts and 91429's Part (c)/perspectives questions alike.

Why this matters for revision order

You cannot pre-learn the 91429 case study, so the highest-value preparation is speed: practise applying the concepts list to an unfamiliar article or dataset under time pressure, rather than researching more facts.
