← Reflective analysis of developing a digital outcome

The parts, and how to allocate the words

800–1,500 words total, and anything beyond the limit is unread.
PartWhat it wantsRoughly
Tools & techniquesDecisions, alternatives, consequences for the outcome~300 words
End-user considerations & implicationsWho they are, what you changed, tested evidence~300 words
Stakeholder feedbackWhat feedback, from whom, what you changed because of it~200 words
Improving the processHow you worked — planning, testing, iteration~200 words
Improving the outcomeSpecific changes to the artefact, with reasons~200 words

Lead every answer with the analysis and finish with the description. If you run over the limit, the unread part should be the least valuable. The exact task document splits these differently most years (see "What actually comes up" below) — the three decision categories are what stays constant, not the part labels.

⚠

Words past 1,500 are not marked at all

This is not a soft guideline — text beyond the word limit is simply not read. Put the analysis (the decision, the reason, the consequence) at the START of each answer and the description at the end, so an overrun costs you the least valuable sentence, not the mark-bearing one.

Practise just this
